About

Coenzyme Q10 is essential for mitochondrial ATP production in neurons. CoQ10 levels decline with age, correlating with neurodegenerative processes. The reduced form (ubiquinol) is more bioavailable and provides lipid-soluble antioxidant protection for neuronal membranes.

How It Works

Essential component of the mitochondrial electron transport chain; supports cellular ATP production in neurons; lipid-soluble antioxidant protecting neuronal membranes.

Side Effects

  • Mild gastrointestinal discomfort
  • Insomnia
  • Rash (rare)
  • Fatigue

Drug & Supplement Interactions

  • Anticoagulants (may reduce warfarin effectiveness)
  • Antihypertensives (additive blood pressure lowering)
  • Statins (statins deplete CoQ10; co-supplementation often recommended)
  • Chemotherapy agents (may affect efficacy)
